Dock Diving Policies
Mandatory Orientation Class
SGR prioritizes the safety of our venue and all the folks involved with it. We want you and your dog(s) to play safe and have the knowledge to do so. During the orientation, we will give a tour of the facility, location of equipment, review pool policies, and pool reservation procedure. This is typically a private session.
Mandatory Swim Evaluation
Before your dogs first swim, it is important to determine how comfortable your dog is with water and understand their ability to swim. For new swimmers and beginners SGR will provide a life jacket to use during the swim evaluation. During the evaluation you or a SGR staff member will be in the water with your dog. Each evaluation is specific to the dog. It may include swimming, floating and toy retrieval.
What to Bring

• Proof of current vaccinations and fecal exam, if not already on file.
• Your dog, preferably fed 3-4 hours beforehand or after swimming
• A flat fitted dog collar
• Non-slip shoes (water shoes or tennis shoes)
• Swim clothes or a change of clothes
• Towels for you and your dog(s)
• Toys! We recommend Kong’s “Wet Wubba”
Health Requirements
Your dog’s Rabies, DHPP, or titer must be current. Bordetella and Leptospirosis highly recommended but not mandatory. SGR will keep all documentation on file. If any of the above mentioned have expired, your dog will not be allowed to swim and you will forfeit your registration fee.
Dogs that have diarrhea, been vomiting, skin sores or infections may not use the pool. Dog handlers that have open wounds, new body piercings or recent surgery may not enter the water. This is for the safety of our facility and other canine companions.
Reservation & Cancellation Policy
• A reserved time will be canceled if not paid 24 hours in advance.
• You must reschedule your reserved time at least 48 hours in advance.
• No refunds are given for cancellation of reserved time.
• We our an outdoor facility. In the event of inclement weather, we will do our best to assist in rescheduling, if you are in the middle of a lesson and more than half way through there is no refund or rescheduling.

Dock Diving Policies Rules
• If you don’t have vaccination proof on file you will not swim
• Female dogs in HEAT are NOT allowed at the facility
• You must check in before using the pool
• Break every 15-20 minutes for your dog to rest and potty
• Dogs may not be dropped into the water or forced in
• Dogs must use the ramp to swim or to exit the pool
• Children under 7 are not allowed in the water or on the dock
• Handlers under 18 must have a guardian present
• Beginner dogs must wear a life vest until SGR staff advises otherwise
• No treats, food or drinks on the dock
• No glass containers near pool area
• Sick dogs (vomiting, diarrhea, sores, or infection) may not use the pool
• If the dog fouls the pool, the session ends and you must notify staff. There is a $150 fee for cleanup and pool downtime.
